JOYCE DENNLER Obituary
Joyce Dennler of Naperville Joyce Dennler, 83, formerly of Champaign, IL passed away Friday May 24, 2013 at Heartland Care Center, Normal, IL. Joyce was born October 24, 1929 in Harvey, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Dennler and their son, David Dennler. She is survived by her son Jim Dennler of Medford, NJ (wife Monica, grandson Jon); and daughter Martha Dennler of Bloomington, IL (civil union partner Claire Mills). She is also well-loved by her five sisters, 26 nieces and nephews and their children. Joyce grew up on a farm south of Chicago, in Dolton, IL. She often recounted stories of working the fields before school in the morning. After graduating from high school, Joyce worked in downtown Chicago Marshall Field's. Joyce married Bob in 1953. After raising three children, Joyce returned to work in customer service with First Alert, Aurora, IL. Joyce also spent many years assisting her husband Bob with his college textbook publishing business. As "champions of children," Joyce and Bob volunteered at the Kingsley Elementary LRC (library) in Naperville, IL for over ten years. Together, they received the Naperville Board of Education's "Outstanding School Volunteer And Those Who Excel" award in 2010. A celebration of life service will be 10:00AM Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL. Memories will be shared by her family and friends. Private inurnment will be at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. Memorials in Joyce's name may be made to the .
