Willis I. Nordhem Beloved husband of Nadyne M. (nee Miller). Loving father of Vicky (Kurt Brueggemann) Nordhem- Brueggemann and Sandra (Michael) Camugnaro. Devoted grandfather of Kylie, Andrew and Nicholas. Cherished stepgrandfather of Amanda, Emma and Sonja. Dear brother of Alan (Linda) Nordhem. Fond brother-in-law of Cliff Miller, Linda (Jim) Murray and Rick Buskill. Born March 12, 1928 in Chicago, at rest Feb. 2, 2014. Raised in Chicago by his Norwegian parents, Victor and Irene, he graduated from Lane Tech and Luther College in Decorah, IA. He then served his country in the US Army before receiving his master's degree from Northwestern University. He then worked for Northwestern University and retired as assistant controller of the University with almost 40 years of service. He was a resident of Mundelein for 11 years, formerly of Glenview and Morton Grove. Founder and former president of ACUA. He was an honorary member of the Kentucky Colonels. He was baptized in the First Lutheran Church, in Chicago and remained a faithful Christian all his life, attending Skokie Valley Baptist Church, where he served as treasurer and currently a member of Quentin Road Bible Baptist Church. Visitation Monday, 10 a.m. until the services at 11:30 a.m. at Quentin Road Bible Baptist Church, 60 Quentin Road, Lake Zurich, IL 60047. Interment Irving Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Quentin Road Bible Baptist Continuing Education at the above address or Luther College, Nordhem Scholarship Fund, Development Office, 700 College Drive, Decorah, IA 52101.
