1917 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
ELGIN - Walter "Bud" Geister Jr., 96, of Elgin passed away on February 5, 2014 at Sherman Hospital, Elgin. He was born on February 17, 1917 in Elgin the son of Walter and Hazel (Lawrence) Geister Sr. Bud graduated from Elgin High School and the University of Illinois. Bud was a Veteran, and had served in the US Army during WWII. Returning from the war, he graduated from Kent Law School in Chicago, IL. Bud practiced Law in the Elgin area for many years prior to his retirement. Bud loved to fish, take courses at ECC and to spend time with his family. He will be dearly missed. He was an active member of the Universalist Unitarian Church of Elgin. Survivors include his two children: Walt "Buzz" Geister of CO and Suzanne (James) Keegan of Elgin: Two grandchildren: Jeff (Stacie) Keegan and Julie (James) Stubblefield; Four great grandchildren: Brianna and Alivia Keegan; Luke and Ava Stubblefield. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Jane (Conrath) Geister, whom he married on August 16, 1941 and passed in 1968; and a sister: Margaret Warner. Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 8, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. Burial with honors will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
