HOFFMAN ESTATES - Anthony J. (Tom) Tempelman, of Naples, FL, formerly of Hoffman Estates, IL, passed away at Avow Hospice House on March 22, 2014. Tom was born in Blue Island, IL on November 14, 1941. He was a graduate of Elmhurst College. Tom began his banking career with Northern Trust in Chicago and retired as an officer from the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago in 2004 after 19 years. In 2007, Tom and his wife, Norine, began spending winters in Naples and made this their permanent home in 2013. Tom was an avid sailor, who also enjoyed fishing, playing at golf, music, car racing and his Corvette. He loved to travel and with Norine they traveled extensively all over the world. Meeting President and Mrs. Gerald Ford in Italy was a highlight. In Naples, he enjoyed volunteering and community activities. Tom served as a Stephen Minister and in other capacities in his former church, First United Methodist Church in Palatine. He had been very active in the Palatine community and served two terms as President of the Palatine Chamber of Commerce. Tom is survived by his loving wife, Norine, of Naples, FL; his two sons, Richard, of Dallas, GA; and Michael, of Flower Mound, TX; his grandson, Troy, and granddaughter, Lindsey. He is also survived by his three brothers, Luke, Andrew (Priscilla) and Richard, two nieces and three nephews, as well as many friends that he considered to be extended family. A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 388 First Avenue South, Naples, on Friday, March 28, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. Donations may be made in Tom's memory to Avow Hospice, 1095 Whippoorwill Lane, Naples, FL 34105 or the First United Methodist Church of Palatine, 123 N.
