1954 - 2016

WEST DUNDEE - Richard Weger, age 62, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at home in Aberdeen, NC, surrounded by and in the care of his daughter after a courageous battle with cancer. Richard was born in Chicago on March 30, 1954 and was one of seven children born to John N. and Loretta F. (nee Zirbes) Weger. He was a resident of the Elgin-West Dundee area for over 30 years and attended St. Catherine of Siena Church. Richard was a musician at heart. His true passion was songwriting and playing the guitar. Survivors include his children: Jennifer (Ranson) Coleman, Richard G. (Sylvia) Weger, II, and John (Elissa) Weger. His grandchildren: Lauren Zywiciel and Jackson Coleman. Richard was also looking forward to the birth of Rick and Sylvia's 1st baby in October of this year. Other survivors include his brothers: Thomas (Holly), Kenneth and Edward Weger. His sisters: Jane Carrigan, Mary (Jim) Sharp, and Deirdre (Jeff) Johannsen, his former wife and friend: Mary Weger along with many nieces and nephews and countless good and faithful friends. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. at Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St., West Dundee. Burial will follow at Windridge Memorial Park Cemetery in Cary. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home. Please omit flowers, a memorial has been established in his memory in care of his family.
