EILEEN DUPONT Obituary

FORMERLY OF MUNDELEIN - Mass of Christian burial for Eileen L. Dupont (Hofer) 95, is 1 PM Friday July 22, 2016 at St. Mary of the Annunciation 22333 W. Erhart Rd. Mundelein, IL. Interment will follow in Ascension Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 Thursday at the Kristan Funeral Home P.C., 219 West Maple Ave. (2 blocks west of Rt. 45 on Rt. 176) Mundelein. Eileen was born April 20, 1921 in Elgin, Iowa and died July 18, 2016 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army where she was a 1st Lt. Nurse stationed in Calcutta, India. She was also a private care nurse. She retired from her nursing career at the age of 80. Eileen enjoyed traveling abroad and spending time at her cabin in Door County. She attended the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and her neighbors in Saddlebrook. She is survived by her loving children Patricia Dupont, Peggy Dupont, Renee Dupont, Joseph (Lori) Dupont, Mary Dupont and husband Hideo Sakai, Robert (Nancy) Dupont and daughter in law Marsha, 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Richard, sons Richard Jr. and John and grandson Jason Dupont. For information call 847-566-8020 or visit www.kristanfuneralhome.com.

My thoughts and prayers for the entire DuPont family. We were neighbors for many years in Mundelein and she was my second mother growing up. I will never forget her strength and courage along with her compassion and love. She was a treasure in my life.
