Graveside service for W.F. Murray, Jr., 87, will be Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Old Union Cemetery with the Reverend Jon Anderson officiating. Mr. Murray passed away November 26, 2012 at Russell Medical Center in Alexander City, AL. Mr. Murray was retired from U.S. Steel as a crane operator. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII where he was awarded the Purple Heart. Mr. Murray was a Volunteer of Mulga Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virgie Murray; sons, Ray Murray and Harry Murray; brothers, Hugh Donald Murray, Durl Thomas Murray and Delona Franklin Murray. He is survived by brother, Ed Murray of Sylacauga; sister-in-law, Robbie Blocker Murray of Sylacauga; Several Nieces and Nephews and Great Nieces and Great Nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 27, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at Curtis and Son North Chapel. Pallbearers will be Eddie Murray, Frankie Hamilton, Trey Turner, Jon Anderson, Rodney Duke. Online condolences may be offered at www.curtisandsonfh.com Curtis and Son North Chapel will direct the service.

Mr.Murray, During my time at BILL NICHOLS WE BECAME SUCH CLOSE FRIENDS. WHEN I RETURNED TO WORK AND HEARD THE NEWS I WAS SHOCKED I WAS IN DISBELIEF. I LOOKED IN THE DAYROOM WHERE U ALWAYS SAT AND LOOKED FOR U IN YOUR ROOM. MY HEART STOPPED. I WILL MISS GIVING U YOUR STRAWBERRY ICECREAM AND A BANANA. AND CHOCOLATE MILK AT SUPPER. U WILL/ARE MISSED.TO THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS MAY GOD BLESS U AND KEEP YOU ALL STRONG. MISS U MR MURRAY....U WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART
