BETTY JANE VIOLET HENIFIN CORNETT

PELL CITY - Betty Jane Violet Henifin Cornett was born in O'Neill Nebraska on July 15, 1928 to George & Violet Henifin. The family settled in Bellingham, after moving to Washington State in 1935. She graduated from Fernadale High School. Betty moved to Alabama in 1954 when she married Bob Cornett, whom she met when he was serving in the Air Force. She spent her life working in the Restaurant business, where she enjoyed managing and catering for many years. She retired from the Anniston Army Depot. Betty passed away at her residence in Pell City, Alabama on November11, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her two daughters, Susan (Hal) Pearson, Candace (Tommy) Echols and son, Samuel. Four grandchildren, Dennis & Cody Pearson and Michael & Nathaniel Echols. Two great-grandchildren, EllaRae Pearson & Cooper Pearson. Special friends, Carl Miller and Sara Elston. Three sisters, Zynaga, Mary Lue (Tom) Walstrom, Noma (Alan) Badgley and brother, Bryant (Charlene) Henifin; sister-in-law, Glenda Henifin, all of Bellingham, WA., and brother-in-law, Carl Anderson of Seattle WA. Numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Bob Cornett; her parents, George & Violet Henifin; one sister, Vivian Anderson; two brothers, Jarold & Ronald Henifin; one brother-in-law, Don Barrett. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 14 at 2:30 p.m. from Valley Hill Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from Noon until 2 at Kilgroe Funeral Home prior to the service. Bro. Bobby Parker will officiate the service.
