2 Corinthians 5:1 states, "For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands." This was the belief of Gordon N. Lerer, 69, of Talladega, AL, whose funeral arrangements were conducted 2:45 p.m., February 18, 2014, in a private ceremony at the Alabama National Memorial Cemetery, Montevallo, AL. Mr. Lerer passed away February 16, 2014, under the attentitive care of the Veterans Administration Hospital, Birmingham, AL. Preceded in death by his parents, Miriam and Lawrence Lerer of Maynard, MA; and son, Michael Samuel Lerer, Gainesboro, TN. Mr. Lerer was survived by his daughter, Jessica L. Edmiston and his son-in-law, Brian, and their sons -his grandchildren - Ethan and Riley of Chelsea, AL, along with his sister, Maureen O'Brien and her husband John of Scituate, MA, and their children Meghan and Michael. Mr. Lerer also held Deja Lerer Crutcher and her husband, Harold, in great esteem and with great love along with friends and family along the East Coast and throughout the South. Mr. Lerer had a heart for children.
