MARY CLAUDIA MCCLAIN HOPKINS

HOPKINS PELL CITY - Mary Claudia McClain Hopkins, 76, of Pell City, born April 15, 1937 went to be with her Lord on July 2, 2013 after a very brief bout with cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim"; her mother, Gladys, and her sister Margaret Ann. She is survived by sons, Stephen James and Timothy Shane, and by her "adopted" son, David Zuspan and his 5 children, all of St. Clair County. Most of her life was spent as a homemaker, then a Pink Lady at St. Vincents's St. Clair for 9 years and 2553 hours of service. She was a devoted member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Pell City. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, July 5th at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church with graveside services at 3 p.m. from Elmwood Cemetery, the Rev. Msgr. Michael Sexton officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 until 1 at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Lakeside Hospice or to the St. Vincent's St. Clair Auxiliary Scholarship Fund.
