BATON ROUGE, LA - Vernie Lou (Big Mama) Adams was born May 4, 1923 in Goldville, AL, passed away July 1, 2012 at Lake Sherwood Village in Baton Rouge. She lived in Alabama all her life until moving to Baton Rouge in 2000 to be near her sons, grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband, Joseph Forace Adams, one granddaughter, four brothers and one sister. Survived by two sons and their wives, Wayland F. Adams and Darlene Harvey Adams; and Dwain L. Adams and Noel Bernard Adams. Also survived by five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Visitation will be at Curtis and Son Funeral Home in Childersburg, AL on July 5, 2012 from 5 pm to 9 pm. Services will be held at the Church of God in Childersburg on July 6, 2012 at 10:30 a.m., conducted by Brother Gene Hodo. Burial will be at 1 p.m. in Hillview Cemetery, Alexander City, AL.
