Funeral services for Wayne L. Hester, Sr., 65, of Eastaboga, will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Eastaboga Baptist Church with Pastor David Phillips and Judge Brian Howell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs. Mr. Hester died Sunday at Trinity Medical Center. Mr. Hester was retired from the US Army after 22 years of service, in which he served during the Vietnam War
. He also was the Court Referral Program Director for Calhoun/Cleburne Mental Health Center, the Regional Director for Bradford Health Services, and just recently retired as Coordinator for Calhoun County Drug Court. He and his wife were also owner/operators of Oxford Outreach. Preceding him in death were his parents, Petro and Emily Hester; a brother, Dale Hester; a son, David Hester; and a grandson, Corey Pressley. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Sandra Hester, of Eastaboga; one daughter, Sharon Hester Reaves and her husband, Dwayne, of Alexandria; three sons, Mike Hester and his wife, Kim, of Alexandria, Mark Hester of Weaver, and Wayne "Len" Hester, Jr., and his wife, Dery, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; five brothers, Clarence Hester of Munford, Gene Hester and his wife, Helene, of Eastaboga, Ray Hester and his wife, Brenda, of Eastaboga, Darrell Hester and his wife, Dana, of Talladega, and Tim Hester of Lincoln; eleven grandchildren, Corey, Caylon, and Collin Reaves, Brittany Pressley, Megan and Ashton Hester, Mark Jr. and Alex Hester, Zachery and Emily Hester, and Micah Saxon; and two great-grandchildren, Roxy and Zaney. Pallbearers will be Corey Reaves, Caylon Reaves, Mark Hester, Jr., Mathew Hester, Clint Baker, and Steve Crowe. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Robison, L.P.
