Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Edward Lackey, Sr, age 91, will be Wednesday, August 21,2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Munford Baptist Church. Reverends Tim Thomas and William Casaday will officiate and burial will be at Pine Hill Memorial Park in Talladega. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bennett Rue Lackey and Corrine Hobbs Lackey, stepmother Mary Lackey and brothers Leroy Lackey, Fred Lackey and Edward Lackey. Mr. Lackey is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mrs. Jean Hewitt Lackey of Munford, AL; daughter, Melanie C. Berry (Don) of Mobile AL; sons, Tom Lackey Jr. (LaDonna) and William Lackey (Susan) both of Pensacola FL; brother, J.C. Lackey of Pineville, W.V.; sisters Polly Phillips of Alexandria, AL, Pearl Watts (Floyd) of Munford, and Ann Stephens (John) of New Hope, AL; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Mr. Lackey was a native of Clay Co. and a resident of Munford for most of his life. He served in the Navy during World War II and retired from Monsanto Chemical Company after 45 years of service. He was a member of Munford Baptist Church, the Lions Club and the Alabama Campers on Mission. He served 12 years as trustee of Munford Schools and was chairman of board of directors of Munford Health Clinic Pallbearers will be Ronnie Gunter, Ted Lackey, Eric Graben, Fred Pierce, George Armbrester, and Bobby Waters. Honorary Pallbearers will be Harold Woodard, Clarence Smith, Bobby Fuller, Milton Cochran, and Jerry Coley. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Munford Baptist Church Building Fund.
