Funeral services for Ann B Holbrook, 79 of Lincoln, AL will be Saturday, June 15, 2013, 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church Oxford, Martin Chapel. The Rev. Jim McCain, Rev. Leon Champion and Dr. Rob Paul will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Oxford Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 till 8 PM at Miller Funeral Home. Mrs. Holbrook passed away on Wednesday at Trinity Hospital. Survivors include her husband, Rev. Finley Holbrook, Jr, son, Dr. Mark Holbrook (Alicia), granddaughter, Lauren Ann Holbrook, and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Tommy Reaves, Bob Bobo, Mike Bobo, Lance Hunter, Glenn Hunter, Adam Reaves, Brandon Reaves, and Greg Mullins. Alternate Pallbearers will be great nephews and nephews-in-law. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of her Sunday School Class, The Gleaners, and WMU at Lincoln Baptist Church. Mrs. Holbrook received her BS Degree from Howard College (now Samford University), and a Master's Degree in Guidance and Counseling from Jacksonville State University. She was a physical education teacher at Wellborn High School from 1963 until 1967, guidance counselor from 1967 -1970's, and vocational guidance counselor from 1970's until 1993, serving Wellborn, Alexandria and Ohatchee schools. Her initial church membership was at First Baptist Church Oxford where she served as church secretary and youth director. She served as pastor's wife at West Anniston Baptist Church for 32 1/2 years, and was currently a member of Lincoln Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Emma Parker, Margaret Reaves, and five brothers, Billy Bobo, John Harold Bobo, James Bobo, Gerald Bobo, and Paul Bobo. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Gideon's International or your local church of choice. Miller Funeral Home will direct the service.
