Blake Lazenby Obituary

Blake R. Lazenby, age 54, a resident of Sylacauga, AL., formally of Montgomery, passed away July 27, 2011. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 11:00am at First United Methodist Church, Cloverdale Park, Montgomery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Blake is survived by his loving mother, Joyce and daughter Madeline. He received his undergraduate and Law degree from the University of Alabama where he was a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He was a long time partner of the Talladega law firm Thornton, Carpenter, O'Brien, Lazenby and Lawrence. Blake was very active in his community, church and professional organizations and was loved and respected by all. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Karl Stegall Scholarship Fund and/or the Joseph Ministry of the First United Methodist Church, 2416 West Cloverdale Park, Montgomery, AL 36106.

We sold Blake our home on Stone Hill Dr. in Sylacauga in 1997. We were impressed with him as a gentlemen and as fair and reasonable to deal with. Our prayer is for his family to find peace in a time of trouble and loss.

Blake and I served on the Alabama State Bar Commission together for several years. He was such a delight to be around and a true friend. I am just stunned at this news and know that he will be missed by many. Prayers for the repose of his soul and for his famil.
