SYLACAUGA-Funeral service for Donna Dean Phillips, 51, will be Sunday, August 26, 2012, at 4 p.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with Elder Johnathan Blakley officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL.
Ms. Phillips died Friday, August 24, 2012, at Coosa Valley Medical Center. She graduated from B.B. Comer High School in 1978, where she was a cheerleader, member of the Remoc Club, and Miss Subdeb of Sylacauga. She worked as a travel agent most of her working career. She was a member of Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and Auburn football. She was preceded in death by her mother, Brenda Beckett Dean; her grandparents, Arthur Lee Beckett and Lera Beckett of Sylacauga and Herman Lee and Louise C. Dean of Alexander City.
She is survived by her son, Jason Michael Phillips, wife Jennifer, of Creola, AL; father, Bufrey Dean, wife Lovie, of Sylacauga; brothers, Dennis D. Dean of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Daniel D. Dean, wife Cindy, of Goodwater; sister, Dana D. Williford, husband Clay, of Opelika; step-brother, Craig Hunnicutt of Sylacauga; step-sister, Natalie Thomas of Sylacauga; grandchildren, Luke Phillips, Colby Phillips and Garrett Phillips; and nephew, Holden Williford of Opelika.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 26, 2012, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.
The family will accept flowers or contributions to Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church, 2017 Forest Glen Rd, Sylacauga, AL 35150.
Pallbearers will be Billy Cooper, Justin Burnette, Adam Smitherman, Glen Kelley, Luke Phillips, Colby Phillips, Kent Pressley and Gregory White. Mike Bradford, Elder Steve Milner and members of the Sylacauga Fire Department will serve as honorary pallbearers.
