HOLLINS – Funeral service for Mr. Everette G. "Red" Moates, 86, will be Sunday, December 30, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Curtis and Son North Chapel with the Rev. Thomas Earl Moates officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga.
Mr. Moates died December 27, 2012, at his residence.
He is survived by his wife Mary Camp Moates of Hollins; son Rusty Moates (Margaret) of Pensacola, FL; stepsons, Wayne Camp (Laurie) of Atlanta, GA and Jerry Camp (Kay) of Milton, FL; stepdaughters, Brenda Camp Winborne (Royce) of Auburn and Wanda Camp Brown of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Kim Moates Apongan (Mike) of Pensacola, FL, Suzanne Brown Davidson (Stephen) of Montgomery and Tony Brown (Alison) of Nashville, TN; step-grandchildren, Daniel Brown (Jennifer) of Ft. Worth, TX, Robert Brown of Atlanta, GA, Kevin Camp (Susan) of Decatur, GA, and Kenneth Camp (Miriam) of Atlanta, GA.; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his first wife Pearl E. Moates and daughter Patsy Moates Brown.
Mr. Moates was a veteran of the Navy during World War II. He retired from Cyprus Minerals with 41 years of service. His family members would like to express their gratitude to Coosa Valley Medical Center Behavioral Unit, Alacare Hospice and special caregiver Kay Bivens.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Curtis and Son North Chapel from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
