James Garfield Reaves, better known as "Butch", age 65, of the Susan Moore Community passed away at his residence. He worked in grocery stores all of his life including 24 years at Winn Dixie and 18 years at the Oneonta Wal-Mart in management. He is preceded in death by his father Horace Reaves. Butch is survived by his wife Cindy Reaves of Susan Moore; sons Matthew Reaves (Brooke), John Reaves, Patrick Reaves, Kannon Reaves and daughter Stephanie Reaves all of Talladega, AL.; stepsons Ray Setter (Sherry) of Chesterfield, MI, Robert Light (Nicole) of Susan Moore, Brent Light of Mt. Olive and stepdaughter Ashley Light of Susan Moore, AL.; 9 grandchildren; mother Viola Reaves and brother David Reaves (Elizabeth) all of Talladega, AL; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Valley Chapel of Oneonta from 5:30 until 8:00 PM and on Sunday, April 6. 2014 from 8 AM until funeral time. Service will be held at Valley Chapel at 11:00 AM with Mike Demetriou officiating with burial to follow at the Pine Hill Cemetery in Talladega, AL. Pallbearers will be Matthew Reaves, John Reaves, Patrick Reaves, Kannon Reaves, Paul Soaper and Mike Lackey. Valley Chapel of Oneonta directing.
