PELL CITY - Funeral services for the Rev. Joseph Lynn Adams, 66, will be Sunday, Jan. 25, at 2 p.m. at Stemley Baptist Church with the Rev. Lindy Martin and the Rev. Carl Armstrong officiating. Interment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Rev. Adams died Jan. 22, 2009. He was the Pastor of Lister Memorial Baptist Church for several years and currently the Pastor of Stemley Baptist Church where he has served for 21 years. He taught in the Pell City School System where he taught History, Shop and Music. He was a member of the Echota Cherokee Indian Tribe and the Ben M. Jacobs Masonic Lodge 643 of Pell City, a graduate of Samford University and owner and operator of Crafts by the Parson. Survivors are his wife, Mary Lou Adams; son, Johnathon Lynn Adams; daughter, Mary Jolene Adams (Tommy) Lee; brother, Wayne Morris Adams; sister, Donna Kay Hooks; and three grandchildren, Elliot Jacobik, Jill Jacobik and Maggie Lee. Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 24, from 6-9 p.m. at Kilgroe Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Stemley Baptist Church. Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City will direct the services.
