Memorial service for Judy Malia "Ju Ju" Acklin, age 52, was Sunday, July 5, from 6-8 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church. The Rev. Frank Thompson officiated. Mrs. Acklin died July 3, 2009 at St. Vincent's Hospital. She was employed at Abitibi Bowater for 30 plus years. She was an avid Alabama fan but most importantly she loved her family and showed it through her generosity. All of Bon Air and the family wishes to extend a special thanks to her cousins to Linda Honeycutt and Wanda Ridley, Nurse Susan Garrigus, the termites, all other family, special cousins, special friends and co-workers who had a part in making Judy's fight with cancer a little easier. Thank you for your prayers and concern from the family of Judy "Ju Ju" Acklin. Survivors are parents, Oklin and Barbara Acklin of Bon Air; cherished brother, Steve (Tammy) Acklin; special niece, Candice (Russ) Hightower; special nephews, Cody and Creed Acklin; great nephews, the joy of life special angels Coy and Cole Hightower; and special friend, Elizabeth.
