Margaret (Peggy) Huff, 73, of Stanley, NB, Canada, unexpectedly while on vacation in Nova Scotia, of a long-term illness. Peggy grew up in Sylacauga, the daughter of the late Dr. French H. Craddock, Jr. and Jane Bland Craddock, and granddaughter of the late Dr. French H. Craddock, Sr. and Edith Smith Craddock. Peggy is survived by her loving family: her spouse Ann Wetherilt, her sister Patricia Craddock of Gainesville, FL, her son David Huff (Carolyn) and grandson Seth of Philadelphia, her daughter Patti Huff Alvarado and granddaughters Tatiana and Mayan of Gainesville, FL and her beloved Great Pyrenees dogs, Bromley and Warwick. Peggy was a graduate of Stanford University and earned her doctorate at Boston University. After her father's death Peggy returned to Sylacauga to be with her mother and raise her children. She was owner of Helen's dress shop and active in St. Andrew's Episcopal Church and the Keep American Beautiful organization. When her children completed high school, she returned to graduate school, and after completing her doctorate, taught for twenty years in the religion and philosophy department of Northeastern University, Boston. She was the co-author, with Ann Wetherilt, of a widely used book in religious studies. She was especially known for her courses in Medical Ethics and The Meaning of Death. She retired to Canada in 2008. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 17th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Anglican Church, Main Street, Stanley, Rev.
