GOODWATER--Graveside service for Martha Elizabeth Gilliland, 77, of Goodwater, will be Sunday, Aug. 10 at 4 p.m. at the Gilliland Family Cemetery with Bro. Larry Forester officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, Aug. 10 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home.

Mrs. Gilliland passed away on Friday, Aug. 8, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born on November 12, 1936, in Sylacauga, Alabama to Marvin Odis Riggins and Ruby Louise Caudle Riggins. She worked as a Customer Service Representative for Alabama Power for over 10 years. She was an active member of Goodwater United Methodist Church where she played both the piano and the organ. She also sang in the choir.
She is survived by her daughter, Meg Sanders (George), of Laceys Spring; son, Steve Gilliland of Goodwater; grandchildren, Stephen Sanders and William Sanders of Huntsville; nieces, Jill Martinez and Suzi Duke of Columbus, Ga. and Marian Murphy of Birmingham; nephews, Tom Duke of Columbus, and Max Duke (Teresa) of Washington, DC; cousins, Ernestine Eble of Parkdale and Lynn Eble of Birmingham; brother-in-law, Joe Gilliland of Goodwater; sister-in-law, Betsy Eyraud of Birmingham and her very good friend Cindy Dean of Mt. Olive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Gilliland Jr., her parents and her sister, Peggy Duke.
