Mary Katherine Elder Caldwell Dinaso "Maw-Maw Kat", 85 of , went to be with her Savior Jesus Christ December 2, 2012. Upon her request, her body will be donated to UAB for cancer research. Memorial Services will be Saturday, December 8 at 2 pm at Talladega Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Elder, Jr. officiating. She was preceded in death by her parents Cleo and Audrey Elder, brothers Cleo Elder, Jr., and Jerry Elder, grandson Joseph W. Davis, granddaughter Audrey Cullins, and great grandson Dakota Caldwell. She is survived by two sons Roy L. Caldwell, Jr. (Lillian) of Trussville, AL and John Caldwell, Sr. of Pell City, AL, two daughters Judy R. Kassik (Richard) of Milligan, NE, and JoAnn Sophia (Wayne) of Verona, KY, 9 grandchildren Tim Caldwell, Sheena Daniels, John Caldwell, Jr., Kenneth Caldwell, Donald Caldwell, Robert Caldwell, and Ronald Caldwell all of Alabama, Mark Petracek of Norfolk, NE, and Beverly "B.J." Wriedt of Union, KY, 15 great grandchildren, and 3 great great granddaughters, her sister-in-law Mrs. Jerry (Dean) Elder, 3 nephews, and 2 nieces. "Special Thanks" to her nephew Jimmy Elder for all his special care. Mrs. Dinaso retired from Citizens Hospital in 1989. She was born and raised in Talladega, AL, lived in Chicago for a period of time, and moved back to Talladega to care for her parents. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church. The "joy" in Katherine's life was when her children and grandchildren would come home for visits. She loved getting pictures and cards from all.
