TALLADEGA- Precious Joy Lynn Goodwine, 32, of Talladega, Alabama, received her eternal healing on April 16, 2013 peacefully surrounded by her family at St. Vincent St. Clair Pell City, Alabama. Her earthly body was entrusted to the care of Cremation Center of Birmingham while spirit is at rest in Heaven. The Memorial Celebration will be held on the campus of Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind at the Student Center 205 East South Street in the Gilchrist Room Talladega, Alabama 35160 on Saturday, April 27 from 3-5:30pm. The family will receive guests during this time. Precious was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 5, 1980. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1998, continued her education at Southern Union State Community College in Wadley, AL, and received her Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL in 2010. As a rehabilitation teacher, bus aide and dorm aide at Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind- EH Gentry and Helen Keller School she taught students to be successful and productive citizens. She also was employed by Bath and Body Works, Bed Bath and Beyond and served as a residential assistant at Southern Union State Community College. Precious was also very active in her community by having leadership roles in the Talladega County Democratic Party, North Talladega County , AIDB Education Association, Alabama Education Association and National Education Association. She was a faithful member of the Word Alive Church of Oxford, AL. Precious Joy Lynn was a very loving and giving young lady all throughout her life who always greeted others with her beautiful smile. Even in her death she was able to brighten someone's life by donating her own eyes to provide sight to another. Precious is survived by her mother Georgia Goodwine Christian of Talladega, her sisters Angel (Jeffrey) Batts, Goldsboro, NC, Tiffanie (Felton) Ellington, Northville, MI and Leslie Christian, Cincinnati, Ohio and her brothers Isom (Mari) Goodwine East Point, GA, Brian Christian, Phoenix, AZ, Kent (Arian) Christian, Mesa, AZ, Brandon Jackson, Ohio, numerous friends, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, of two that she loved like her own JaQuan and Jorja. She also leaves her precious memories and moments in the hearts of her brothers and sisters of the Lincoln High schoolmates who she loved very much. She is preceded in death by her fathers, John H. Goodwine, Jr., Mack McCluney and Zebedee Christian, Jr., her grandparents Willie B. and Elsie Embry Turner, John and Minnie Foster Goodwine, Sr., Henry and Susie Orr McCluney and Zebedee and Annie Christian, Sr. The family is starting The Precious Foundation for Liver Awareness in her memory and has asked that attendees of her memorial celebration wear green in her memory. Therefore, in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given during Precious' Memorial Celebration to the North Talladega County or The Precious Foundation for Liver Awareness. The family of Precious Joy Lynn Goodwine wishes to thank the community for their ongoing support and acts of kindness.
