CHILDERSBURG – Funeral service for James Henry "Sandy" Coleman, 91, will be Monday, January 27, at 2 p.m. at Odena Baptist Church with Dr. Danny Courson and Walter Lee Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Odena Cemetery.
The Guest Book is expired.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel.
Mr. Coleman died Friday, January 24, 2014, at Coosa Valley Medical Center.
He served in the Army during World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was a member of Odena Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Teresa Lynn Coleman; one grandson, Caleb Kearley; his parents, John Terry and Flora Coleman; and four brothers, Gerald, Winfred, John and Isaac Thomas Coleman.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lula Mae Coleman of Childersburg; two daughters, Wanda (Gene) Kearley of Dothan and Brenda (Jay) Bulger of Childersburg; two brothers, Walter Lee Coleman of Alexander City and Ray Coleman of Cummings, Ga.; and four grandchildren, Zac (Jamie) Bulger of Childersburg, Lane (Nichole) Bulger of Childersburg, Jacob (Lindsay) Kearley of Auburn and Lindsey (Ryne) Turner of Dothan.
Pallbearers will be Zac Bulger, Lane Bulger, Jacob Kearley, Ryne Turner, Curtis Coleman and David Coleman.
