CHILDERSBURG - Funeral service for Mrs. Noble Janette Payne, 90, will be Monday, Feb. 17, at 2 p.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with the Rev. Paul Vick officiating. Burial will be in Tallasahatchie Cemetery in Alpine.
Mrs. Payne died Saturday, Feb. 15, at her residence. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Russell Payne; son, James Monroe Gower; grandchildren, Brian Gower, Terry Payne and Teresa Johnson; and several great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Jaeanette Northcutt of Montgomery, Betty Walls of Childersburg, Faye Taylor and husband Gerry of Alpine, Freida Wynn and husband Ronnie of Alpine, Janice Campbell and husband Rick of Lincoln, Debra Hill and husband Wesley of Millbrook, Mary Jo Ford and husband Jim of Prattville, Sue Rohrbough of Clanton, Dean Howard and husband Tom of Prattville, Gaylyn Brooks and husband Scott of Santuck, Bonnie Seevers and husband Roy of Rockford, Connie Waldrup and husband Ronnie of Prattville and Sharon Rawlison and husband Allen of Prattville; sons, John Gower and wife Joan of Florence, Clyde "Snookum" Payne of Sylacauga and Joe Russell Payne Jr. and wife Paula of Prattville; 42 grandchildren and a host of great- and great-greatgrandchildren.
The family would like to give special thanks to Amedysis Hospice and Becky Taylor, whom she loved.
Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 17, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Timmy Northcutt, Gerry Taylor Jr., Elijah Lockhart, Dewayne Isabel, Aaron Brooks and Michael Rawlison. Other grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
