Edith Lois Tyler, beloved mother and loyal friend, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, AL after a long illness. She was born in Delmar, AL on November 27, 1926, she was 87 years old. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Clarence J. "Dock" Tyler; father, William A. Hill, mother, Elene Hill; brothers, Junior Hill, Clyde F. Hill and Billy Hill; sisters, Mattie Lois Brooks and Betty Rose Vickers. She is survived by her sons, David Kay, wife Chong of Newbern, NC and Michael J. Tyler, wife Gayle of Clinton, IL; daughter, Jackie Gustin, husband Don of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Randy and Heather Gustin, Andy and Melinda Gustin, Michael and Celeste Gustin, Elena Kay, Kathy Kay, Tracy and Gary Gundy and Phillip and Rebekah Tyler; great-grandchildren, Nicolas Gustin, Brittni Gustin, Lane Gustin, Beth Gustin, Blake Gustin, Bryant Gundy, Blake Gundy, Brianna Gundy, Guy Louis Tyler and Ashlyn Tyler. Funeral service will be Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with Rev Jimmy Dale Abrams officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home. The family would like to give special thanks to John Ledbetter and Louise Judd, Angel Cooper and daughters, Dani, Audrey and Lacy; Donnie Breedwell and the wonderful staff of nurses from Amedysis Home Health Group; all the nurses and staff from South Hampton Nursing Home; Dr. Manh Dang and his caring staff; Dr. Jeremy Russell and his staff and her beloved dog and constant companion, "Candy"! She was a loyal Alabama football fan to the end "Roll Tide"! Grandsons and great-grandsons will carry their Grandmother home. Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.radneysmith.com.
