Visitation is 12:30-2 p.m. Sunday, June 1 at Curtis and Son Childersburg Chapel. Burial will be at Greenhill Cemetery.
Mr. Crowe died Friday, May 30, 2014 at his residence.
Luther was a devoted Christian and lifelong resident of Childersburg. He retired from Kimberly-Clark and the National Guard, which he joined at 16 years of age and retired as 1st Sgt. after 44 years of service. He supported and loved Childersburg Sports, coaching all levels of baseball from the time his son started playing and even coached his grandchildren. He served as the President of the Heritage Society and was involved in the beginning of the restoration process of the Grist Mill. He and his wife of 60 years enjoyed many happy years together, traveling and farming, but his greatest love was his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to say a special thanks to Amedysis Hospice and his caregiver, Lanett Pope.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Crowe, son, Jerome Crowe (Cindy), daughters, Terisa Crowe and Debra Champion (Louis), brother, Lebrone Hubbard (Pat), sisters, Irene Gardner and Melva Kendrick (Bill), grandchildren, Jeremy Crowe (Madeline), Jessica Pilkington (Jared), Jacob Epperson (Megan) and Jared Epperson (Cassi), and great-grandchildren Bella and Lucy Epperson, Jack Pilkington and Jace Epperson.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Crowe, Jacob Epperson, Jared Epperson, Jared Pilkington, Timmy Vick and Brandon Bishop.
