Jean Blankenship Montee, 81, of Stewartville, AL passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Coosa Valley Medical Center in Sylacauga, AL after a brief struggle with pneumonia. Jean resided at the Sylacauga Health and Rehab for the past five years. She was born in Blytheville, Arkansas to Luke and Sadie Presnell on August 27, 1932. Jean was a member of Grimes Chapel Church and will truly be missed. Mrs. Montee was preceded in death by her son, Raymond Allan Blankenship She is survived by her husband, Earl Earnest Montee; her daughters, Sandra Gail Blankenship Robinson, husband Ronnie, Barbara Jean Blankenship Goodwin, husband Richard, Kathleen Blankenship Arney, husband Del and Kimberley Ann Blankenship Magouyrk, husband Jeff; son, Kenneth Ray Blankenship; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. The family wants to thank Sylacauga Health and Rehab and Sheila Berry for the care that was given their mother for the past few years. They would also like to thank Dr. Diddy and the Nursing Staff at Coosa Valley Medical ICU. Visitation will be held at Radney-Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Radney-Smith Chapel on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Charles Moore officiating. Burial will be at Grimes Chapel Cemetery. Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.radneysmith.com.
