Funeral service for Eleanor Moore, 88, will be Friday, August 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with Rev. Donnie Blackmon and Rev. Donald Grice officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL. Eleanor K. Moore, born Eleanor Elay Kilpatrick on May 13, 1926, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 13, 2014. Her life was a remarkable example of grace, courage and generosity of spirit. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hilliard Moore to whom she was married for more than 50 years. She was also preceded by her parents, Arthur and Ethel Kilpatrick; sister, Emogene Norris and brothers, Wilburn Travis Kilpatrick and William Arthur Kilpatrick. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Moore, wife Doris; daughter, Debra Pitts, husband Carey; grandchildren, Bo Moore, wife Susan, Regina Richardson, husband Mickey, Stephanie Kirkland and Aaron Moore; great-grandchildren, Savannah and Cheyenne Moore, Chandler and Charlee Kirkland and Issac Richardson. She is also survived by her sisters, Dorothy Ammons, Thelma Hutton, Edith Higginbotham, Genell Church, Betty Sue Willis and Ettie Bea Rieck; brothers, Rayvaughn Kilpatrick and Gerald Kilpatrick. Visitation will be Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 5:30 pm until 8:00 pm. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home. The family wishes to thank all of those who supported Eleanor and her family during her illness with prayers and kindness and welcomes them to this service. Flowers will be accepted but the family requests memorials be made in her name to Unity Free Will Baptist Church, Women's Auxiliary. A special thank you to all her caregivers, especially Janet, Laurie and New Beacon Hospice. Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.radneysmith.com.
