Funeral services for Mrs. Mathel Bolton White, 90, of Sylacauga will be held Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Clay County Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Arnall and Rev. Turk Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Clay County Memory Gardens. Mrs. White passed away Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Sylacauga Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Clay County, but had traveled to many different states and countries with her husband during his career. They had spent their retirement years in Brentwood, TN. Prior to her retirement she had been employed as a secretary/bookkeeper. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Franklin, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, J. W. Bolton and Eva Monroe Bolton; her husband, Newell White; three sisters, Gwendolyn Gunn Ivey, Evelyn Fryer, and Prathel Joiner; and three brothers, James Bolton, Jake Bolton, and Lyndol Bolton. She is survived by two sisters, Eulene Tucker of Uriah, AL and Christnueve Smitherman of Trussville; and two brothers, Charles Bolton of Sylacauga, and Coy Bolton of Millerville. Serving as pallbearers for Mrs. White will be nephews. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time Wednesday at Clay County Funeral Home.
