TUSCALOOSA - Funeral service for Mark Nelson Eason, 50, will be Wednesday, February 1, 2012, 10 a.m. in Memory Chapel with Gerald Jones officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Cropwell, 1:30 p.m. Mr. Eason passed away January 28, 2012 at DCHRMC. Mark Eason was born in Birmingham Alabama on October 6, 1961. In 1972, their family moved to the Chicago, Illinois area, where Mark went on to graduate from high school and college. On Election night, 1986, Mark relocated to Tuscaloosa. Mark was introduced to Janice Ensley in January, 1991 and within only two weeks, they knew they wanted to marry. February 14, 2012 would have been their 20th anniversary. Mark looked for the good in everyone - or, rather, he always assumed it was already there. He never looked for ulterior motives, he never met a stranger, and he could always find common ground with the people he met. Mark loved a good book, a good conversation, good food - and most of all - his family. He truly had the heart of a servant. Mark wholeheartedly supported his wife in every endeavor, large or small. They were rarely seen apart. Janice's words of farewell. "Marky, my best friend, I will miss and love you forever. I was the 'piglet' to your 'Pooh'." He is preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Celestial Yates, Cleatus and Mildred Eason. Survivors are his wife, Janice Patricia Ensley Eason, Tuscaloosa, AL; sister Tracey Eason Hester; parents, Peggy and Nelson Eason; nephews, Dylan Nelson Hester, David Rece Hester, God daughter Emma Gray Schaetzle, as well as many other friends and relatives. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 31, 2012, 6-8 p.m. at Memory Chapel. In lieu of flowers make donations to Humane Society of West Alabama - Tuscaloosa; Tuscaloosa Library. Pallbearers are Mike Schaetzle, Chip Brinyark, Dave Heggem, Phil Roach, Stephen Roach, Roger Patterson, Jim Yates, Brother Ensley and Northwood Church of Christ.
