Besack, Corey William* - Downingtown  
Corey William Besack, 30, of Exton, passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 14, 2015. He just celebrated his 1-year anniversary with his beloved wife, Lauren P. Curtis Besack. Born in Scranton, Pa, he was the son of Steven William and Kelly Ann Quinn Besack. Corey loved music and was a phenomenal guitarist. He also loved cooking, kayaking, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his two sisters, Jessica Ann and Norah Clare Besack; paternal grandmother, Anna Besack and his maternal grandmother, Barbara Quinn. He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Walter William Besack and Joseph E. Quinn. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 2 – 4 p.m. and again from 6 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Church, 120 St. Elizabeth Drive, Chester Springs. Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery on 3215 Manor Road in Coatesville, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Corey's name to the Guardians of the Brandywine at www.watchourwaters.org. Mary Ellen (VanMeter)Birkhimer, formerly of Thornton, Pa. Mary Ellen (VanMeter) Birkhimer, age 101, of Granite Farms Estates, Media, Pa. died Wednesday, May 13, 2015. Mary was born in New Jersey, and grew up in Philadelphia, Pa. Mary had been a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Thornton, Pa., since 1953. A woman of faith, Mary served actively with the church in her younger years. Mrs. Birkhimer was the wife of the late John D. Birkhimer who died in 1988. She is survived by daughters Phyllis Ellson of California and Mary Lou Birkhimer of Wyoming and several nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service will be Wednesday, May 20 at 10 a.m. at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, 4 Westtown Road, Thornton, PA 19373. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Ltd., Middletown (Rte #352) & Knowlton Roads, Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063, and Wednesday after 9 a.m.at the church. Interment in Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills, Pa. Boland, Mary F. (Farren)* - Exton, Formerly Of Malvern  
Mary F. Boland (nee Farren) of Exton Mary F. Boland (nee Farren), 82, of Exton, formerly of Malvern, passed away on May 21, 2015. Born in Philadelphia in 1933, she was the daughter of the late Mary and Charles Farren. Mary graduated from West Catholic Girls’ High School and worked in the development office at Immaculata University for 31 years. Mary was dedicated to her family. She was an active member of SS Philip & James parish, and devoted to her Catholic faith. Mary loved to travel to Avalon, Stone Harbor, and Ireland; she was a voracious reader. She was the beloved wife of the late William B. Boland; loving mother of William J. Boland (Lisa), the late Susan Greene (Edward), Charles F. Boland (Caroline), and Mary Kate Boland; loving grandmother of Meghan, Kara, Allison, Lauren, Colleen, Stephen, Michael, Bill, and Matthew; also survived by six great-grandchildren; and the dear sister of Phyllis Beatty (William), Betty Erfle (Raymond), and the late Kathleen Farren. Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday, May 29 at SS Philip & James, 107 N Ship Rd, Exton, PA 19341 immediately followed by her Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Interment Calvary Cem. Boyer, Joan L.* - Honey Brook  
Joan L. Boyer of Honey Brook, Pa. Joan L. Boyer 81, of Honey Brook, Pa., died on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at her residence. She was born on October 4, 1933 in Coatesville, Pa. and was the daughter of the late Milton and Romaine Martin. Joan was the wife of Harold W. Boyer. They shared 59 years of marriage. Joan was a homemaker and a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness Congregation of New Holland, Pa. She was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Boyer, a brother and a sister. Joan is survived by a son Jeffrey Boyer of Glenmoore, two daughters, Kristi Thorpe of Fayetteville and Kendra Brill of Intercourse, a brother Donald Martin, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Bucan Jr., Nickolas* - Frazer  
Nickolas Bucan Jr. of Frazer Nickolas Bucan Jr., of Frazer, Pa., 91, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, May 21, 2015, at home surrounded by his family. Born in Swatara Township, Dauphin County, May 16, 1924, he was a son of the late Nickola and Violet (Cherkos) Bucan. Nick was educated in Hanover schools and was a graduate of Memorial High School, Hanover, Pa class of 1942. After courting his sweetheart Evelyn (nee Johnson) they married in July 1948 and enjoyed 67 years of marriage. Nick was an Aircraft Mechanic in the Air Force during World War II, Active from 1943-1946. He was a union carpenter retiring in 1989. He was employed by J & M Construction for many years and worked most of his life up and down the Main Line area. Anyone who knew Nick knew he enjoyed the simple things of life and his complex conversations with his friends with his clever wit. Nick also had a great love for building things out of wood. He belonged to many bowling leagues in the 70’s & 80’s once bowling a perfect game. He loved attending Sunday night camp fires with his son-in-law Doug and the mountains with his friends. John Wayne was his favorite! Nick also was a big fan of the Phillies, Eagles, and golf. All who loved him will sorely miss him. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Lisa and Doug Ramsay. Nick is preceded in death by, in addition to his parents, sisters Mildred (Mitzi) Rusmisel, Dallas, Pa., Zora Brunn, Boothwyn, Pa., and Mileva Bucan, Dunmore; and brother George Bucan, Kingston. Surviving is brother Dr. Michael Bucan, M.D., formerly from Shavertown, and nieces Susan Voelker, Raleigh, N.C., Cynthia Hunt, Littlestown, Pa. and Valerie Bucan, Dallas, Pa. and nephews George Bucan, Dallas, Pa. and Brendan Bucan, Wilkes-Barre. Memorial services will be held at a later date to be determined. Donations may be made to Bacton Hill Bible Church, 2109 Conestoga Rd., Malvern, PA 19355.

Bullock, Dorothy E. Nesbitt* - West Grove  
Dorothy E. Nesbitt Bullock, age 82 of Elkton MD, formerly of West Grove, PA, died Friday May 15, 2015 at Laurelwood Care Center in Elkton. She was the wife of the late Howard Ulysses Bullock Jr. who died in 2014 and with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. Born in Port Deposit MD, she was a daughter of the late Howard and the late Violet Krauss Nesbitt. In her earlier years she loved watching her husband play steel guitar in the band Shorty Nesbitt & The Wranglers. She was a custodian at the University of Delaware for many years. In recent years she enjoyed singing at the nursing home. Survivors include one sister, Margaret Devonshire of MD and many nieces and nephews.
