Darone, Elwood D.* - Kennett Square  
Elwood ‘Tony’ D. Darone of Kennett Square Elwood “Tony” D. Darone, 67, of Kennett Square, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2016. Born in West Chester, he was the son of Hazel Darone Smith of Kennett Square. Tony was a night watchman at Kendal-Crosslands in Kennett Square for over 20 years. He was a member of the Avondale Fire Company. He enjoyed model trains, reading and spending time at the firehouse. In addition to his mother, he is survived by one brother, Robert Combs and his wife Judy of Troutdale, Va.; three sisters, Pamela Roten and her husband William of Williamstown, Pa., Karen Roark of Avondale, and Crystal Baker of West Grove, and many nieces and nephews. Tony was predeceased by one brother, Joseph Darone. You are invited to visit with his family and friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday morning, May 3, 2016, at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home, 250 West State Street, Kennett Square, Pa. 19348. His funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery, Route 82, Kennett Square. DeKonty, Anna Anita Alfiere* - Downingtown  
Anna Anita Alfiere De Konty, of Downingtown Anna Anita Alfiere De Konty, 98, Simpson Meadows, Downingtown Pennsylvania, formerly of Falls-Lake Winola, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2016 at Simpson Meadows Methodist home. She was the wife of Michael Maxine De Konty of Falls, Pennsylvania, who passed away at the age of 100 years on December 31, 2009. They had celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary on October 2, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her brother Joseph. Born in Scranton on March 3, 1918, she was the daughter of the late James and Lena Alfieri of Scranton, Pennsylvania. After her fairytale elopement, she and Michael began their married life with the focus of raising children and they were blessed with eight children. Anna’s life primarily centered on her role as a mother to her eight children. She was actively involved in church activities at the Mill City Assembly of God where she is remembered with great fondness. She is survived by four daughters, Mary De Konty Applegate and husband, Tony, Downingtown; Joanne De Boy and husband, Jim, West Chester; Deborah Dobbs and husband, Mel, Roanoke, Virginia and Sharon Self and husband, Baine, Richmond, Virginia; four sons, Michael and wife, Eunice, Phoenix; Daniel and wife, Barbara, Acworth, Georgia; David and wife, Laurie, Lake Winola; and Paul and wife, Jennifer, Phoenix. She has one surviving sister-in-law, Ruth Christian, Las Vegas; 19 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. A memorial service in Anna’s honor will be held at Simpson Meadows on Sunday, May 1st at 2:00 P.M. in the Community Room. Anna’s nephew, Rev. George Tigh will be officiating for the service. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Simpson Meadows, 101 Plaza Drive, Downingtown, PA 19335.

DeMarco, Jennie "Giovannina"* - West Chester  
Jennie “Giovannina” DeMarco of West Chester Jennie “Giovannina” DeMarco, 90, died peacefully on Thursday April 21, after a short illness at Paoli Memorial Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Howard A. DeMarco. Born October 19, 1925 in Ganister, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ercole Calderone and the late Rosaria Viola Calderone. Jennie was a member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, in West Chester. She is survived by her sister Julie Vitale and her husband Joe Vitale of West Chester, PA and her brother Richard Calderoni of Doylestown, PA, son, Howard A. DeMarco, Jr. and his wife, Gail DeMarco of West Chester, PA, daughter Donna Budzinski and her husband Kurt of Myrtle Beach, SC, son Kenneth DeMarco of West Chester, PA, son Joe DeMarco and his wife Lorie of Central City, PA, daughter Joan Grande and her husband Mark Grande of West Chester, PA. And her loving grandchildren; Kristin Budzinski, Lauren and Dr. Phil Montemuro, Dr. Nicole Budzinski, Bryan DeMarco, Ashley DeMarco, Alexis DeMarco, Michael Grande and Jason Grande. Jennie was preceded in death by her husband Howard A. DeMarco of 48 years. Relatives and Friends are invited to her visitation on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 from 8:30 am - 10:30 am at St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 15 East Pleasant Grove Rd., West Chester, PA 19382; followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. DePippo, August Augie Joseph* - Toughkenamon  
August ‘Augie’ Joseph DePippo of Toughkenamon August “Augie” Joseph DePippo, 86, passed away peacefully, on April 22, 2016, surrounded by his family, at Maris Grove Senior Community. Augie is survived by his wife Emily, of 62.5 years, Maris Grove, Glen Mills, PA, son Joe and his wife Nancy, who reside in Brevard, N.C., and son Richard and his husband Doug, who reside in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He is preceded in death by his brother Robert DePippo and his parents, Pasquale and Anna. Born in Malvern, Pa., to Pasquale and Anna DePippo, Augie grew up in Toughkenamon, Pa., attended Saint Patrick’s School for eight years, and graduated from Kennett High School in 1947. Augie was proud to have been a member of Toughkenamon Toughies football and baseball teams, and he played both soccer and baseball for Kennett High School. He was a veteran and served our Country in the U.S. Army from 1951 through 1953. In 1953, Augie married Emily DaVia. Augie and Millie were partners with brother Bob and Peggy DePippo in the Brown Derby Restaurant which was first opened by his parents in 1934. They worked together for 40 years and made the Brown Derby a popular local restaurant. The Brown Derby was owned and operated by the DePippo family for 60 years. Augie was also active in the community. He served as a director of Elmwood Federal Savings and Loan, and was elected to the Borough Council of Kennett Square. After selling the Brown Derby in 1994, Augie and Millie retired. In 2000, they moved to the Spruce Creek Community in Summerfield, Fla. During his retirement he was a volunteer at the Southern Chester County Medical Center and at the Soup Kitchen operated by St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Belleview, Fla. Augie was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing with Millie and friends. He enjoyed traveling with Millie and together they took many trips abroad and throughout the U.S. In October 2013, they moved back to Pennsylvania and the Maris Grove Retirement Community where they have resided until his passing. You are invited to visit with Augie’s family and friends from 6 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2016 and again from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at the Kuzo & Grieco Funeral Home, 250 West State Street, Kennett Square, PA. His Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, 212 Meredith Street, Kennett Square, PA. Burial will be private. DiRocco, Wanda "Becky"* - West Chester  
Wanda ‘Becky’ DiRocco of West Chester Wanda “Becky” DiRocco, 75, died Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She was the wife of 56 years to Anthony F. DiRocco Jr. Born August 31, 1940 in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late Robert E. Poole Sr. and the late Mildred S. Hale Poole. Becky worked as an accountant for SCT in Great Valley for over 10 years. She was a member of St. Agnes Church and enjoyed bowling, reading, crossword puzzles, knitting and playing card games. In addition to her husband she is survived by siblings, Sarah McCue, Robert E. Poole Jr. and his wife Patricia, Nancy L. DeHaven and her husband Robert, all of West Chester, and William Poole and his wife Patricia of Glenmoore. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Ellen R. McCool and brother-in-law, Ted McCue. Relatives and Friends are invited to her visitation on Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 8:30 am - 10 am at the St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay St. West Chester, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 am.
