Lambert, Robert E.* - West Chester  
Robert E. Lambert of West Chester Robert E. Lambert, 87, of West Chester, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016. He was the husband of Marilyn A. Lambert, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage before she passed away in 2014. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late John M. and Esther Langebartel Lambert. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy and a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He worked as an executive for Lukens Steel Company for 31 years. He was also an active member of the West Goshen Township Board for 31 years, serving as supervisor for 23 of those years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of West Chester, loved to golf and was an avid woodworker. He was a longtime member of West Chester Golf and Country Club and was an avid bridge player. Robert is survived by his children, Sandra Ream (Barry) and Gary Lambert (Ro); grandsons, Andrew and Christopher Ream and Kyle and Troy Lambert; great granddaughter, Elizabeth Marilyn Lambert; and special friend, Doris Campbell. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Wellington at Hershey’s Mill, 1361 E. Boot Rd., West Chester, PA 19380. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to United Methodist Church of West Chester, 129 S. Lyons, John J. Jack* - Wilmington  
John J. Lyons of Wilmington, DE John J. Lyons, “Jack”, 88, passed away peacefully in his sleep while vacationing in Maine with his daughter. He was born September 22, 1927 in Downingtown PA, son of the late Gerard J. and Josephine (Moulder) Lyons. After graduating high school, Jack served in the US Army with the occupation forces in Japan after WWII. Upon his discharge, he went on to the State Teacher College at West Chester and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Health Education. He attended the University of Pennsylvania and graduated in 1953 with a Certificate in Physical Therapy. Jack went on to enjoy a career working at the Wilmington General Hospital and after a few years opened a private practice physical therapy office. He was also a high school football official for 50 years. He enjoyed playing tennis, skiing, senior citizen softball, playing canasta and bridge with friends and traveling with his wife and members of the local AARP chapter. He made many friends at post cana activities and working as the exercise instructor for senior citizens aquatics at the JCC and the fitness center in the YMCA. Above all else, he cherished spending time with his family, and especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and school activities. Jack is survived by his children, Daniel (Joanne), Sharon, Dennis (Derrick), and Thomas (Christa); his grandchildren, Kristi Childress (David), Carolyn Hilbert (Randy), John and William Lyons; his great-granddaughter, Cassidy; his sister, Marjorie Kipp, and good friend, Priscilla. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen in 2011; and his brother, Gerard Lyons. The Lyons family would love to take this opportunity to thank our Dad’s neighbors for keeping an eye out, clearing his driveway and paths of snow, cutting the grass, and providing welcomed bake goods and sweets. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4701 Weldin Road, Wilmington, DE 19803. Interment services will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Jack’s family suggests making contributions in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 240 N. McCreary, Catherine Helen DiFilippo* - Avondale  
Catherine Helen DiFilippo McCreary of Avondale, PA Catherine Helen DiFilippo McCreary, age 87, passed away on June 20, 2016 at the Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. Catherine was born in West Grove, PA. She was the daughter of the late Joseph DiFilippo and Mary Touquilio DiFilippo of West Grove, PA. She was the loving wife of the late Leon Samuel McCreary Sr., who passed away in 1969. He was the one true love of her life. Catherine’s greatest love was her family. She is survived by three children; Marie Malchione (Peter) of Avondale, PA, Leon S. McCreary Jr. (Terri) of Abington MD , and Kathleen Bard (Tony) of Oxford, PA; six grandchildren, Adrienne Malchione (Brad) of Oxford, PA, Nathan McCreary (Tracy) of Fallston MD, Nicole Allen (Rudy) of Cochranville, PA, Katherine Maxwell (Brian) of Avondale, PA, Brandy Batista of Abington, MD, and Cassandra Gray (Jason) of West Chester, PA; ten great grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph DiFilippo of Avondale, PA and Dominick (Norma) DiFilippo of West Grove, PA. Catherine was preceded in death by one brother Anthony J. DiFilippo. Catherine retired at age 65 from Kendal-Crosslands Life Care Communities, and continued working as a companion to the elderly, and as a teacher’s assistant at Longwood Learning Center. Catherine’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Friday June 24, 2016 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike Hockessin, DE 19707. Visitation will be from 9:00 am-11AM. Burial will be at Saint Patrick Cemetery, Kennett Square, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Masonic Village Employee Fund, 1 Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
