Attila Tamas Balla

Attila Tamas Balla of Cochranville Attila Tamas Balla, 68, died peacefully at his home on July 13, 2013, after a prolonged illness. Attila is survived by his beloved wife, Kristin Williams Balla; daughters, Lyryn (Jesse) Yacoe, Johnna Balla and Ashley Balla; sons, Brent (Tara) Balla and Declan (Katie) Balla; four grandchildren; and sister, Palma Balla of Lehigh Acres, Fla. He also opened his home and heart to 26 foster children during his lifetime. Attila was born Oct. 2, 1944 in Budapest, Hungary. He moved to Philadelphia in 1963 with his parents, Andor and Katalin Balla (deceased) and sister. He was a graduate of Northeast High School and Philadelphia Community College. Attila married Kristin Williams, of Broomall, in Oct. 1980. Always an entrepreneur, he owned Attila's Sandwich Shop in Bensalem for 10 years before establishing AKL Video Productions and Balla Custom Services. For at least 15 years, Attila led youth, including his children, on annual Reach trips to repair homes in impoverished communities. Attila was an active member of Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church, Parkesburg. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 20th, at Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church, 1121 Octorara Trail, Parkesburg.
