Beverly Elaine Deidrick Daly

Beverly Elaine Deidrick Daly of West Brandywine On November 20, 2012 Beverly passed away peacefully at the age of 86. Born on August 18, 1926, Beverly lived her early years in Wyomissing, West Lawn and Shillington outside Reading, graduating from Shillington High School in 1944. She attended University of Delaware graduating with a major in sociology. In 1949 she married Sidney Silverstein and raised two children, Susan and Gary in Springfield Delaware County. Beverly returned to school and received an M.S. in education at the University of Pennsylvania in 1962. She was inducted into the Pi Lambda Theata National Honor and Professional Association in Education in 1961. Later she became a member of MENSA. She spent over 30 years as an elementary school teacher at the Amosland School in Ridley Township, retiring in 1988. In June, 1979 she married the love of her life, F. Laurence Daly, whom she met at the Unitarian Church of West Chester, and with whom she spent 33 years. They moved together to Freedom Village Senior Living Center in West Brandywine. Beverly enjoyed singing, playing bridge, studying the stock market and discussing her political views. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Buck, son-in-law, David Buck and grandson, Andrew Buck, as well as her son, Gary Scott, daughter-in-law, Noreen Scott and grandchildren Justin and Zachary Scott, Alyssa Smith and Jon and Justin Solinsky.
