Christine A. Sliva-Stratman

Christine A. Sliva-Stratman of West Chester Christine A. Sliva-Stratman, 50, of West Chester, died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013 at Neighborhood Hospice Inpatient Unit in West Chester, following a courageous battle against cancer. She was the wife of Paul G. Stratman with whom she shared nearly 22 years of marriage. Born in Lafayette, Ind., she was the daughter of Philip O. Sliva and Kathleen G. Cattell Sliva. Christine was a loving mother and part time preschool teacher with the Bucket School at First Presbyterian Church in West Chester. She was a 1981 graduate of Fairport High School (Fairport, N.Y.) and 1985 graduate of Cornell University. She was employed at Smith-Kline Beecham Animal-Health Division from 1985 to 1995. Most important in her life were her children. She enjoyed listening to Caitlyn play music, watching Eric run cross-country and track, and riding horses with Alicia. Christine will be deeply missed. In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by her children, Caitlyn Stratman, Eric Stratman, and Alicia Stratman all of West Chester; her sister, Karen Kelley (Timothy) of Rochester, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to her Celebration of Life from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at the First Presbyterian Church of West Chester, 130 W. Miner St., West Chester, PA 19382, with her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013 at St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay St., West Chester, PA 19381. Interment will be private.
