Graham Davies

Graham Davies of Exton Graham Davies, 69, of Exton, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012 at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester. He was the beloved husband of Ann (nee Farmer) Davies, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage. Born in Stoke-on-Trent, England, Graham was the son of the late Samuel and Elsie (nee Gratton) Davies. He graduated from North Staffordshire Technical College in Stoke-on-Trent, England, with a BS in mechanical engineering and a BS in ceramic engineering. Before his retirement in 2008, Graham was the Production Manager and Manager of Industrial Engineering at Waterford/Wedgewood Group, Stoke-on-Trent, England (1964-1971); Senior Projects Manager at the Pfaltzgraff Company, York, Pennsylvania (1972-1976); Project Consultant at Caribe China Corporation, Vega Baja, Puerto Rico (1976-1977); R&D/Sales and Marketing Director at Service Engineers LTD (England): Ceramic Process Engineering Equipment, Stoke-on-Trent, England (1977-1979); Vice President/General Manager Ceramic Process Engineering & Filtration Divisions, Netzsch Incorporated, Subsidiary of Gebrueder Netzsch, Germany (1979-1997); President/CEO, American Standard, Manilla, Philippines (1997-2001); Vice President of Manufacturing Asia Pacific, American Standard, Bangkok, Thailand (2001-2003); Global Leader Core Process Technologies, Ideal Standard Inc., Orcenico, Italy (2003-2006) and the Director of Product Technology, American Standard, Piscataway, New Jersey (2006-2008). Mr. Davies wrote articles for publications in the ceramic industry and held patents in Sanitaryware Manufacturing and Tableware Manufacturing processes. Mr. Davies had a passion for cars, enjoyed golf, home improvements, gardening, world travel and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Mr. Davies is also survived by his children, Richard G. Davies and his wife, Ann, of Fuquay-Varina, N.C., Fiona H. Brenek and her husband, Stephen, of Morgantown, and Ian A. Davies and his wife, Patricia, of Valley Township; and five grandchildren, Brittany, Stefan, Liam, Grace and Caroline. He was also predeceased by his brother, Wilfred Davies. An evening visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25th at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown. A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 26th at Washington Memorial Chapel, Route 23 at Valley Forge National Historical Park, Valley Forge.
