Marjorie B. Dillon

Marjorie B. Dillon of Downingtown Marjorie B. Dillon, 88, of Downingtown, passed away on Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at Villa St. Martha in Downingtown. She was the loving wife of the late Leo. J. Dillon, Jr., with whom she had shared 37 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 1986. Born in Norfolk, Va., she was the daughter of the late Albert J. and Elsa Sulzer Bath. She was a 1943 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Moylan and a 1947 graduate of Chestnut Hill College. Mrs. Dillon was an elementary teacher at Ss. Philip and James School in Exton for 25 years. She was a founding member of Ss. Philip and James Church and was currently a member of St. Joseph Church in Downingtown. She volunteered at the Chester County Library for many years, and enjoyed playing cards, Scrabble and Bingo in her spare time. She was also an avid Phillies fan. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dillon was predeceased by one brother, Donald Bath. She is survived by her children, Kate McDonough of Montclair, N.J., Terry Dillon (Sue), Laura Dillon (Eric Spizzirri) and Leo Dillon, III (Cathy), all of Downingtown. She is also survived by her brother, James Bath; and by grandchildren, Bryn, Trevor, Ryann, Leo IV, Delaney and Janette; and by great-granddaughter, Lucy, all of whom she lovingly reminded that "if it weren't for me, none of you would be here". Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22nd, at St. Joseph Church, 338 Manor Ave., Downingtown. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21st, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown. Interment will be in Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield.
