Michael C. Muto

Michael C. Muto of Coatesville Michael C. Muto, 86, of Coatesville, formerly of S. Philadelphia, died on May 4, 2013. Michael was the Heavy Weight Champion of the Golden Gloves, Silver Gloves and Diamond Belt. He was also a retired Philadelphia police officer recognized for heroism in 1964 for rescuing a family from a burning building. He then resided for over 45 years in Coatesville, retiring from the Coatesville VA as a police lieutenant. In his later years he enjoyed gardening, spending time with his family and being an active member of the Downingtown Seniors Center which brought much enjoyment to his life. He was the husband of the late Rose Marie P. (nee Petuski). He is survived by his children, Thomas Massi (Maryann), Anthony Massi (Charlotte), Richard Massi, Michael R. Muto (Debbie), Daniel G. Muto, Anna Marie Massi, Frances Massi, Rose Marie Russell (Kevin) and Michelle Begley (Shane); his 16 grandchildren, his 12 great grandchildren; his brother, Frank X. Muto; and his sisters, Isabelle Caruso and Marquerite Valentino. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at the D'Anjolell Memorial Home of Broomall, 2811 West Chester Pike Broomall, PA 19008, and from 10 to 11:15 a.m. Friday, at Our Lady of Consolation Church, 603 W. 2nd Ave., Parkesburg, PA 19365. His funeral Mass is at 11:30 a.m. Entombment St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester.
