Raymond H. Schmidt of Freedom Village Raymond H. Schmidt, 90, of Coatesville, passed away on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Freedom Village at Brandywine. He was the beloved husband of Edith H. Schmidt, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage. Born in Rockville, Conn., he was the son of the late George and Marie Rothe Schmidt. He was a 1941 graduate of Flemington High School in Flemington, N.J., and earned his bachelor's degree in business from NYU. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII
. Mr. Schmidt was the owner of Harmon Associates, an advertising company in Flourtown, Pa., for many years. He was extremely artistic, and his artwork has been displayed all over, especially at Freedom Village. He was an avid "Professional" amateur golfer, and was a member of many civic organizations, including the Masons and Kiwanis Club. He was a big supporter of youth sports, especially Little League. Most of all, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his wife, Ray is survived by his sons, Martin D. Schmidt (Frieda J.) of Downingtown, and Brian R. Schmidt (Joni A.) of Lancaster; and by grandchildren, Daniel, Matthew, Paul, Max, and Brittney. He was predeceased by his brother, George. Funeral and interment services will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Heartland Hospice, 460 Norristown Road, Suite 101, Blue Bell, PA 19422. Arrangements are being handled by the James J. Terry Funeral Home, Downingtown.
