William Hulme

William Hulme of West Chester William Hulme, 73, of West Chester, went home to be with his Lord on Feb. 25, 2013, surrounded by his family at the Coatesville VA Hospice Center, Coatesville. Born on Sept. 1, 1939, he was the son of the late John Walter Hulme, Sr. and the late Gertrude Reynolds Hulme. He was the husband of Nellie Kromer Iverson Hulme. Bill grew up in West Chester and was also a boy scout. He graduated from West Chester High School and went to the Pennsylvania School and Technology where he earned as associate degree in technology design. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Bill was in business for himself for a time and then went to work for Boeing Vertol. Later he worked for Smith Industries where he designed the lighting for the cockpit of large aircraft. After 25 years with Boeing, he retired after 9/11. Bill loved to travel and take tours on the American Queen River Boat. He also loved going to his winter home in Hilton Head, South Carolina. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his step-daughter, Evelyn Iverson McMahon, a sister, Carol Hulme Greiner and her husband Barry, four step-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren, two nieces, four great-nephews and three great-nieces. He was predeceased by his brother, John Walter Hulme, Jr. Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Service, 11 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Grove United Methodist Church, 490 W. Boot Rd. ,West Chester, PA 19380, where visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Fernwood Cemetery, Lansdowne. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the City Gate Ministries, 17 N. 7th Ave., Coatesville, PA 19320, James E. Davis, director, 610-383-6915.
