Carolyn Widick Obituary
Born in Eccles, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Edward Vance and the late Lola Duncan Vance.
Carolyn received her master's degree in library science at West Virginia University.
She was a retired librarian from B. Reed Henderson High School, working there from 1979 to 1993. Prior to Henderson, she worked at Cheyney University in 1968, and opened the East Junior High School Library, working there from 1974 to 1977.
Carolyn enjoyed reading, traveling, playing bridge, and going to plays and concerts.
She is survived by her children, Andrew Widick and his wife, Mary, and Nancy Wolfslayer; and grandson, Kinzua Wolfslayer.
She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Gloria Vance Norris.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home Inc., 410 N. Church St. West Chester, 610-696-1181.
Interment will be held in Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley, W.Va.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Carolyn Widick to the Chester County Hero Fund, 820 Heatherstone Drive, Berwyn, PA 19312, www.chestercountyherofund.com, 610-647-7899.
