Catherine R. "Peaches" Solis

Catherine R. 'Peaches' Solis of West Chester Catherine R. "Peaches" Solis, 84, of West Chester, died Thursday, June 27, 2013, at her home in West Chester. She was the wife of Augustine M. "Sonny" Solis. Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late Vincenzo Ruggiero and the late Concetta Moreschi Ruggiero She attended St. Agnes School in West Chester and graduated from West Chester High School. Peaches worked at DuPont in Wilmington, and then was involved in the family business, Mr. Donut in West Chester. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She also loved reminiscing about Chestnut Street and walking her granddog. An avid sports fan, Peaches particularly loved the Eagles, Sixers, and college basketball. She played in the DuPont Girls Basketball League. She was also a member of the West Chester Sons of Italy. She spent numerous summers at Schelgel Swim Club and enjoyed vacationing in Avalon, N.J. with her family. Her main focus in life was to take care of others. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Augusta "Gussie" Solis and her husband John "Jay" Mutchler of Wayne, and Theodore Solis and his wife Jill of Leesburg, Va.; grandchildren, Rachel, Emily, and Benjamin Solis; and two sisters, Helen Colona and Elizabeth Heald, both of West Chester. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by siblings, Jennie, Joseph, Eddie, Evelyn. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass, 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at St. Agnes Church, 233 W. Gay St., West Chester. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday July 1, 2013 at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc., 410 North Church Street, West Chester, PA 19380, 610-696-1181, www.DellaFH.com, and again from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday July 2, 2013 at St. Agnes Church. Interment will be at St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
