Harold H. "Buddy" Sylvester Jr.

Harold H. 'Buddy' Sylvester Jr. of West Chester Harold H. "Buddy" Sylvester Jr., 75, of West Chester, died Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Penn Hospice at Rittenhouse in Philadelphia. He was the husband of Sharon A. Cochrane Sylvester. Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late Harold H. Sylvester and the late Isabel McCandless Sylvester. He was a 1956 graduate of West Chester High School and attended Drexel University. Harold served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged. He worked for the U.S.P.S. for 34 years and IFM Efector for 9 years. Harold loved airplanes, narrow gauge railroads (extensive model layout) and traveling in a motor home. He also was a World War II history buff and enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Flyers. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, James H. Sylvester and his wife Jennifer, Brad Sylvester, Anne M. Spina and her husband Vincent; and granddaughters, Amy, Anna, Caitlin and Kyra. Also, he is survived by nieces and nephews and two cherished cats, Rocky and Murray. He was preceded in death by his sister, Eileen Huss. Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Service, 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home, Inc., 410 North Church Street, West Chester, PA 19380, where visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Interment will be private.
