Alfred Thompson Obituary

Alfred W. "Thompsie" Thompson Jr., 71, of West Chester, passed away Monday, March 25, 2013, at the Brandywine Hospital.
Born in West Chester, he was the son of Priscilla Thompson and the late Alfred W. Thompson Sr.
Alfred was the husband of Patricia Clark Thompson, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage.
A U.S. Army veteran, Alfred served until he was honorably discharged in 1966.
He was employed by the former Lukens Steel Co. for 32 years.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Thompson; children, Alfred W. "Wilbur" Thompson of Philadelphia, Tracy W. Thompson of West Chester, Vida "Kiddle" (David) Whitfield of Downingtown, and Leon Jones "Douggie" Thompson Sr., Debra Thompson and Carmen Boyd Thompson, all of Coatesville; mother, Priscilla Thompson of Parkesburg; sisters, Priscilla (Jessie) Snead of Coatesville, Marine Thompson of Parkesburg; brother, Leon (Marjorie) Thompson of Coatesville; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Thelma M. Clark of West Chester; and a host of other relatives.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Crystal Y. Thompson.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 4, at Pentecostal House of Prayer, 2396 Douglas Ave., Aston, with a viewing beginning at 9 a.m.
Interment will be in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
