Anthony Dominic "Tony" LeBresco

Anthony 'Tony' Dominic LeBresco of Paoli Anthony "Tony" Dominic LeBresco, of Paoli, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2013, with his brother Joseph at his bedside. Tony was born on Nov. 15,h 1926 in Paoli. He was the son of Dominic and Maria LeBresco. Tony graduated from Saint Horace Scott High School in Coatesville (which is now Scott High School). After serving in the Army Air Corps, Tony went on to graduate from The Pennsylvania Military College (which in now Widener University). Tony was in the 7 Air Service Group of the Army Air Corps for several years during World War II and spent 3 years in Tokyo. He was honorably discharged Aug. 17 1947. After college Tony owned several business's in the Malvern and Paoli area. He was a partner in The Old Malvern Golf Course, King Rd., Malvern. After the golf course was sold for a housing development he bought Paoli Taxi Company and operated that business for about 20 years. After he sold the taxi company he bought a restaurant in Frazer and named it LeBresco's Carriage Lamp Restaurant (now Mackenzie's restaurant). Upon retiring from the restaurant business he could not just stay at home and went to work part time for Roy Rogers's restaurant in Paoli. When that closed he went to work at Wawa in Paoli as a coffee host where he worked for many years. He also worked at the Great Valley Wawa for a few years before finally retiring. Tony loved people and really enjoyed the contact with so many people. He often said working at Wawa was his favorite job because he saw so many people there. Some were old friends and some became new friends. Tony lived all of his life in the Malvern / Paoli area and was well known for his good deeds. He would collect day old food from grocery stores and bakery's and transport them to the needy in Philadelphia where he was known as Uncle Tony. He would also collect used clothes from the family for the poor. Tony was a member of Saint Norbert's Catholic Church in Paoli. Tony is survived by his brother, Joseph (Lois) of Malvern, sister-in-law Laura, and many nieces and nephews. Tony was pre-deceased by brothers, Peter, Andrew, Jerry, Nicholas, Orlando and Sidney, and his sister, Angeline March. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Tony's life celebration from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, at St. Norbert's Church, 50 Leopard Road, Paoli, followed by his memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
