Charles Buckwalter Obituary

Charles A. Buckwalter, 81, of West Chester, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at Chester County Hospital, West Chester.
Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late C. Earl Buckwalter and the late Katherine Smith Buckwalter.
Charles was a 1949 graduate of West Chester Henderson High School, and was a 1953 graduate of Purdue University.
Charles had worked as a benefits manager for the State of New York.
He was a voracious reader and a lover of movies and the theater.
He is survived by his nieces, Katherine E. Wicks of Fayetteville, N.C., Marilyn Huey of West Chester, Susan Gilead of New Smyrna Beach, Fla., Christie Binkley of Austin, Texas, and Nancy Buckwalter of Maui, Hawaii.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marian B. Huey; and a brother, Earl E. Buckwalter.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service at noon on Thursday, Oct. 31, at DellaVecchia, Reilly, Smith & Boyd Funeral Home Inc., 410 N. Church St., West Chester, 610-696-1181, www.DellaFH.com; with a visitation beginning at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in Morris Cemetery, Phoenixville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Wentworth, 112 S. Church St., West Chester, PA 19382.
