Denny L. Howell Obituary
Denny L. Howell Jr. of East Fallowfield Denny L. Howell, Jr., 76, of East Fallowfield, passed away on Monday, March 5, 2012 at Fox Subacute at Clara Burke in Plymouth Meeting. He was the loving husband of the late Pauline V. "Polly" Howell, with whom he had shared 50 years of marriage at the time of her passing in 2008. Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Denny L. and Clara Davis Howell. He was a 1953 graduate of S. Horace Scott High School and attended Penn State University. He was employed by Lukens Steel where he worked as a safety engineer for 35 years. Denny was a former East Fallowfield Township su per- visor. He worked as a consultant for the Loss Control Institute in Georgia. In his earlier years, he taught Sunday school at Hephzibah Baptist Church. Recently, he converted to Catholicism and began attending St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Coatesville. He loved spending time with his family, and enjoyed vacations in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Everyone loved his stories and jokes. He was an avid reader and loved to paint and draw in his younger years. He is survived by his children, Denise H. Dodds and husband, Earl, of Leola, Patty L. Keehn and husband, David of East Fallowfield, and Denny L. Howell, II and wife Natalie of Malvern. He is also survived by grandchildren, Lindsey, David and Joey Keehn; Kate, Matthew and Michael Dodds; Denny L. Howell, III, and Mackenzie Howell. He was predeceased by his step-father, Kenny Ellingsworth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 9, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 404 Charles Street, Coatesville. A visitation will be held for family and friends on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown. Interment will be in St. Stanislaus Kotska Cemetery, Coatesville. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to St. Joseph Church Women's Club, 404 Charles Street, Coatesville, PA 19320.
